Hi guys,
For the flight from San Juan to St. Thomas, window seat…. Which side of the airplane has the better view?
Thanks
Colo Boy
Left/port
yeah left. usually they circle the island from the north side to west end then land at the airport.
Take Cape Air from SJU and it won't make a difference. With only 6 seats, every one has a great view. Heck, you even get to look straight ahead!
"usually they circle the island from the north side to west end then land at the airport."
Huh? They uswally fly from the West (Puerto Rico), to the East (STT), and land at the airport, still facing East. Very rarely do the winds require us to land while facing East.
I always book a seat on the left facing the front of the plane. If that's port then port is where I sit. I eagerly anticipate the first glimpse of St. Thomas as it comes into view. Then I try to notice every inch of coastline and hillside possible. Of course, if you're traveling on August 6, then the best view is from the right side (in other words, stay outta my seat! LOL...)

Thanks a lot !
I just booked from AA.com, morning flight, Row 2 Seat A (front and left as suggested)
And by the way, you can now book a R/T (SJU to STT) as low as $151(after tax and fee) from AA.com. Lots of departure times (10 times a day), and you can even select the seat by yourself.
Caribbean Sun has a low fare too, but just only 3 (4 on weekend) times a day.
I will be there in March. So, don't worry Gerie.... 🙂

If they land from the west...just close your eyes during final decent. 😉
Looks like you're going to land in the water, then at the last second the wheels hit the pavement. Kind of reminds me of flying into Harrisburg, PA over the Susquehanna River. 🙂
