I am getting married in St. John next summer and was wondering if anyone here has ever stayed at La Chateau. Any comments will help!

My husband and I stayed at La Chateau about 5 years ago. The views are incredible but most are. We have stayed in several villas over the years and this one was very nice but not our favorite. It's alittle rustic and the pool is out in the yard instead of being built into the deck. It does have an old European feel to it, so if that is what your looking for you will probably love it. We just prefer something a little more modern. It is also a long drive into town, a least compared to other places we've stayed.

I really should pull out my pictures to refresh my memory. Hope this helps alittle.

Any other suggestions for a nice honeymoon spot? We really want to be on the north shore. Thanks!

My wife and I were married on Hawksnest seven years ago and spent our honeymoon at La Chateau. While there are many very nice houses and views on St. John you will not be disapointed if you choose La Chateau. I find it to be a very good location as you are between Cruz Bay and Coral Bay in addition to the north shore views.

it's one of my favorite houses on the entire island, by far. yes it's a little bit older, yes it's a little bit further out of the way [okey, by what 10 minutes further than most chocolate hole or great cruz bay houses?!] but worth it/. incredible views, and significantly more private and quiet than anything in peter bay or any of the south shore areas.

have fun!
