Hello All,

We will be traveling back to STT on a Sunday to catch a 5:30p.m. flight. Unfortunately the timing of the Jost ferry does not allow us to take the late one to STT so we have to leave Jost at 9am which puts us on STT around 11am. We are looking to find a resort/hotel etc. that would allow us to be a day visitor and use their beach, eat and drink at their bar and use their restrooms to change before the plane. Does anyone know of any such thing on STT. If I remember correctly their are a couple places close to the airport but having never been to them I'm not sure if they are what we are looking for and if they allow day visitors.

Any help would be appreciated! Just don't want to waste our last hours in the Caribbean hanging at the airport.

Thanks in advance.

Jill

You might enjoy spending time at Yacht Haven Grande. Great restaurants on the water, shopping and clean restrooms. You can drink at Fat Turtle.

The Best Western Emerald Beach Resort which is on the airport road would be an excellent choice.

Thank you. I'll look into this! I'm thinking perhaps we may have stopped their one year when we had extra time. Is the Emerald the first one you come to on the left as you are heading to the airport, theirs a bar between the pool and beach?! It's all coming back to me know I think!

Yes Jill, Emerald is the first one on the left on the airport road. There are a couple bars on that beach, but the one affiliated with Emerald is b/w pool and beach. The beach there is called Lindberg Bay, nice spot to hang out for a few hours. I don't recall if they have a fresh water outdoor shower but there are restrooms for changing. If you wanted access to a full restroom with shower you might inquire about whether they offer special day rates for their rooms.

My understanding is that if they have space available they do offer a day room rate although whether it would be worth it for just the few hours is up to you! Have fun!

Thanks for the info. We don't need a room for the few hours we'll be hanging out just a spot to get some food and beverage, hang out in the sun and then change into traveling clothes, a public restroom would be fine. Do either of you know if they charge for hanging out there, like a per hour or day rate?! Not a big deal if they do just trying to plan ahead. Thanks again! Jill

From what other travelers have advised, there is no charge. As long as you're purchasing from their restaurant and/or bar they apparently are most hospitable. I recall one traveler mentioning once that the person at the desk even held their bags behind the desk while they enjoyed the beach!
