Does anybody have information about the plans for Lindquist beach ? I heard awhile back the talk of a park like Maegen's but wasn't sure how credible it was !
Thanks !

I live next to Lindquist and have heard NOTHING. The government said it would be done by now.

I read in the paper a while back that it actually had been turned over to the Megan's Bay Authority to run. The appropriated some money this year and will likely some more next. It will likely take several years, like most things in the islands to see any real progress on this. Based on the effectiveness of the Board at Megan's it a positive move.

Yes, the plan is for the Magens Bay Authority to eventually take over "development" and management of Lindqvist but I don't recall that this was something which was to have happened already. Obviously funding has to be identified and plans have to be carefully made so it'll probably take a while and more than likely will be done in small stages. In the meantime, Lindqvist is again open to the public as usual.

The Governor recently vetoed a Smith Bay rezoning variance to allow a large development proposal (sts.onepaper.com) but I understand this wasn't the Cabes Point project. The Source has been diligent in reporting on these recent and often quite controversial plans for Smith Bay. "Country" is in danger of becoming "second town" with Red Hook as the trendsetter. Cheers!
