Hi,

We are a group of 6 who will be disembarking a cruise ship in February in St. Thomas around 9AM. Our flight home does not leave until after 5pm. We will all have at least one large luggage bag each. We are looking for options to do knowing that we will have luggage.

Thanks

I'd check with your airline and see if you can check you luggage early at the airport and have them hold on to it.

We had that happen the first time we went there and we found a taxi driver that hung onto our luggage for us. He gave us his cell number to call him when we were ready to leave for the airport. He picked us up and off we went.

We have used taxi drivers in the past as well and have had no problems. They will hold all your bags for you and provide you with a contact number to reach them when you are ready to head to the airport.

We always call a taxi (Rachel Brown (340)771-2986) and she holds our bags while we shop the downtown area and have a late lunch. We either pre-arrange a pick-up time and place or call her when we are ready to head to the airport.

We were on St. John in May and checked out of our villa and caught the 11:00 ferry over to St. Thomas and caught a taxi and had him drop us off at the Best Western Emerald Beach Hotel. It is on the same road as the airport. We went to the front desk and they stored our luggage for us in a little room beside the office. They have a nice outdoor bar and grill. A very nice beach to relax on before the long flight home. We got a taxi to take us to the airport a couple of hours before our 4:30 flight. We are glad we just chilled out our last day.

This is easy if you want to spend time in Charlotte Amalie before the airport. There is a Visitor Center at Market Square. Take all you luggage with you and store it at the visitor center for about $2 a bag. It is withingwalking distance of downtown. Go shopping, eat, drink, whatever. Just walk back to the visitor center. There is a nice restroom/changing rooms you can freshen up in before the flight. They also serve refreshments and snacks. They will call a cab to the airport if one is not waiting. It is easy. Don't do a taxi service, I gaurantee this is a better plan. Check out a map of downtown charlotte amalie and you find Market Square.
