okay, I know this question is a little odd for this board but I need help and was hoping those that either live in USVI or visit often can help. I purchased a beautiful larimar pendants a few years back while in St. John. This weekend, my house was broken into and someone stole some pieces including that. Does anyone know any stores in St John, St. Croix... that sell Larimar and have websites. I know some people are trying to pass off colored stones as larmiar so I really need some help. I searched the web and came across Tradewinds in St. Thomas but they don't really have what I'm looking for. I know Caravan Gallery in St. John sells it also but they don't show any on their website.

I believe the majority of the Larimar jewelry is made in the Dominican Republic where the material is mined. Many stores then sell it. I do know a few also do their own designs as well. If you had one of the custom pieces, it may be very hard to replace.

i'm not sure you can replace the sentimental value of your piece, but you can look at sites like www.mylarimar.com and www.larimarfactory.com to see if there's something like what was taken. Also, contact any of the stores you enjoy, describe your piece, and ask if they have anything similar that they could send pic of. Stor websites rarely have all their stock pictured, but will happily send you photos if you can define your needs.

Sorry about the loss of your things and your piece of mind.

I purchased my Larimar Unity Bracelet from Palm Jewelers on St. John. I think they also had pendants. www.palmjewelers.com
