I was curious if anyone could fill me in on the current condition of Lameshur Road. I would like to check out some of the less visited beaches, but I've read in several places the the road can get pretty sketchy. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Also are the beaches there worth the risk of beating up a rental.

Lameshur road NEEDS 4WD. The entrance road is a washed out train wreck of a road for about 100 yards and then it smooths out, the switchbacks are paved. I swear they keep it like that to keep out tourists and not so brave people. Its a GREAT snorkeling beach back there.

PLEASE be careful now we are into the turtle nesting season to stay on the path and not step on the nesting area.

We were there in February and it's not that bad at all. There is dirt then pavement, dirt then pavement but it's quite easy if you just take it slow. I think it's definately worth the trip. The snorkeling was beautiful and hardly anyone there. Great location to get lost from the world. Enjoy
