Hello everyone,
I'm going to St John soon and renting a villa called La Collina near Cruz Bay. Has anyone ever stayed there and if you did what did you think of the place and the rental company? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

We stayed at La Collina in 2004. I agree with the previous poster the pool is small. Here are few other things about the villa...

1. The view of St. Thomas at night was especially beautiful. We have rented several villas and for some reason this villa sticks out in my mind of having the best view at night. I loved to watch the twinkling lights of St. Thomas.
2. The deck was great! We spent alot of time out there. A couple chaise lounges and a table and chairs for dining.
3. The air conditioning in the bedrooms worked great.
4. Plenty of beach chairs and coolers
5. There is a pull out couch in each bedroom (if you have small kids this is a plus).
6. The bedrooms/bathrooms are slightly dated but clean and well kept
7. While there are homes around you the pool and house were very private
8. The turn at the top of the hill to get on to the road to the villa was a little scary it is equivalent to taking a left turn at the top of a hill (in the states). You never knew if someone was coming. We also gave the horn a little toot as we turned. Nothing to be a afraid of just something to be aware of.
9. The kitchen was fully stocked
10. There is an outdoor shower head at the front door. I can't tell you how nice it was to have that after returning from the
beach. Adults and kids showered off the sand from the beach.
11. Washer and Dryer are located outside in a closet. At first I found it to be odd but it worked out just fine.
12. Cruz Bay is just a short drive away.
13. We had a 3 and 5 year old with us. Before we left I went to the Dollar Store and bought them two little
nets. The property had little paths in the back and side yards that the kids could run around and try to catch lizards
in their nets. It kept them busy for hours.
14. The pool while very small was located to the side of the house. The view was great. Having to the pool over to the side was great for us with having the kids. There is very little shade at the pool ( a little under a tree) but not a whole lot.
There is a table and chairs as well as several lounge chairs.
15. The downstairs bedrooms were accessed from outside. We didn't use any of them but did look at them. They were small but adequate. They have no view due to the landscaping in front of them. They also each had a pull out couch.

We were very happy with La Collina in fact if the pool were larger I wouldn't hesitate renting it again. Frankly, the small size of the pool was great when my kids were small but now we need something larger. If you have any further questions I would be happy to answer them.
