was wondering if anyone has stayed at either and can comment on one or both. hard to tell from pictures which has nicer views and which pool would you choose if you could for swimming, sunning and grilling? can you get by in june w/ no a/c. actually only have it in the bedroom at orchid knoll, but not at all at la bella villa. how important is this?
I have not stayed at either. But I would recommend a/c in the bedrooms at night in June. I'm not a big a/c fan but have found that I DO need it to sleep at night in the late spring/summer/fall in the tropics. Winter is fine without.
Also, be aware that Caribbean Villas for some reason charges an extra 5% service fee that none of the other on-island villa rental agencies do. Neither, as far as I've ever experienced, do the 'direct-by-owner' sites.
Finally, I think the Orchid Knoll views are beautiful & the interior looks lovely (plus includes sunset views which are my favorite; sunrise villas are totally lost one me, especially on vacation). La Bella Villa's pool is fiberglass which is just not 'my thing;' a personal preference for concrete pools.
