Does anyone know anything about the Kon Tiki party boat. We are looking for a little sailing trip. We want something fun.

Kon Tiki is a PARTY boat - lots of rum - glass bottom boat - not "a little sailing trip". There are sailing trips listed here or ask at your hotel or search here. Lots of good chater about S/Y Lou, S/Y Fantasy, S/Y Winifred - all are private 6 pax charters or try S/Y True Love for a larger party. If you need links, feel free to email me.

Hello KK,

Ditto what Pamela said. Kon Tiki will take care of the fun with a group, drink rum punch to steel pan music on a boat ride with some swimming in the early afternoon but not the sailing trip. Maybe if you explained a bit more what you are looking for we can make better suggestions/feedback. You can take a look at some of your sailing options by clicking on St. Thomas at the top of this page and choosing Daysails.

I wouldn't recommend a glass bottom boat if you're prone to motion sickeness. Went on one in Hawaii and I couldn't stop from looking through the bottom and ended up hanging over the side on the way back (along with my mom my sis my bro and several other people!)LOL!

There are only sections on the Kon Tiki that have a see-thru hull. It's not a completely see-thru boat. Where you will be standing and sitting, it is like a regular barge. The see-thru part is only in the middle, and they open it for viewing when you get to a decent spot to see stuff.

By "little sail" I meant not all day. We are looking for something around 2-3 hours. We wouldn't mind sailing and stopping then sailing back. I don't want something that is 5-6 hours long. I would be one of the people with my head over the edge! Thank you for all of your help!

Hello KK,

With your follow up I'd say Kon Tiki would work for what you are looking for; its a party boat so takes care of the fun, you will get a little boat time and it does stop at the beach so you can get a break. Have fun!!

KK,
Kon Tiki is not a sail boat by the way but a power boat. Another fun "lots of people" half day trip would be Dancing Dolphin. She is a catamaran and very, very stable.

You guys are great! Thanks for all of your help. One more question...how far in advance do we need to make a reservation? We are coming the week after Easter.
