Bigtime trivia question- Hubbie and I were remembering our first visit to STJ about 20 years ago and know that the Kite Bar, which we remember perched along the edge of the road outside Cruz Bay is no longer there. Does anyone know if the same folks rebuilt elsewhere?
Hi all, I just want to wish you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY HOLIDAYS, AND SEASONS GREETINGS!! Tonite , Christmas eve,December 24th , we have LIVE Steel Pan music played by Carl Freeman from 7 pm until at the ST JOHN BAR and RESTAURANT in CORAL BAY ST JOHN. We also have a new cook, Joseph Canhan from Austin Texas serving up delicious meals.. Saturday December 26th we have the lovely female musician T-Bird singing and playing her guitar from 7 pm until... I hope to see you and all your friends soon...vic
hi again all. Well, T-Bird had to cancel, so I got Carl Freeman to come play, but alas! We had days mixed up! What a fiasco! So ANYWAY......... Carl Freeman will be playing STEEL PAN melodies from 10 pm THURSDAY NEW YEARS EVE at THE ST JOHN BAR AND RESTAURANT in CORAL BAY ST JOHN into 2010!! We also got the bartenders to STOP playing LOUD HIP HOP music and the place has returned to mellow conversational music playing reggae , jazz, pop , soca and soul.... 🙂

Hi all I am sorry to announce that I am no longer associated with the ST JOHN BAR and Restaurant in Coral Bay. Apparently 3 months wasn't long enough to generate enough business. to cover all the bills. Oh well, we did have some fun while it lasted. 🙂

Just saw this thread, my first time there was in 1978, I remember well because crawling along on top of the shelf where the booze was sitting was a large brown & white rat. I remember that no one there was taken back by this.
On that visit we stayed at the original Gallows Point, how many remember the bar there?

I have a whole bunch of pictures from The Kite from 1985….been to St John many times since and going back on March 11 , 2023 for a week on a Catamaran….just found this looking up info on the Kite
