I was on the island last week and sad to see Kilnworks was closed. I always pick up a piece there whenever I visit St. Thomas. I heard that they went out of business. What happened? Does anybody know if that is true? Website is not taking orders. Easy to see the trend in that area.

Too bad, what's next to go?

The Kilnworks closed down a couple of years ago and the owner left island. Another store was in the space for a while but the building is now empty. As The Island Turns!

You got that right, but as the island turns to what may be the problem. Too bad. I was there two years ago in July, they must have closed right after because i bought lizard pottery then. Another St. Thomas tradition gone forever. We stayed on St. John last year, did not make it over to St. Thomas at all so I had no idea, nobody posted anything.
Thanks

Most businesses in the VI are struggling, but everybody's hoping for a turnaround soon. As long as the US economy is in the duldrums, the VI economy will continue to suffer, too.

The owner is alive and well and now loves living in Florida. She was my pottery teacher years ago. You can take lessons or purchase one of a kind pieces at RIDVAN STUDIO, located in Tillets Gardens. Lynn is there everyday except Sun. From 10 am-5. Tell her I sent you.

Thank you
I am not currently there. I only used to collect the original light colored pottery having the thin lizard bas-relief in red clay.
