Our group is staying in a Villa (Island Horizons) on St. John for a week in February. We just LOVE authentic Key Lime Pie! In fact, last time we were all together, we had this delectable dessert at every restaurant and did our own "rankings" throughout the trip.

This time, we'll be cooking 4-5 meals at our villa. I'd LOVE to provide some great Key Lime Pie for dessert for a night (there's 6 of us so one pie is probably going to be devoured in one meal!).

Where can I get an excellent Key Lime Pie either on St. Thomas or St. John to take back to our villa? Also - any other great local dessert ideas for us since we'll be eating at the villa several times?

Thanks!

VI

No cooks in the group? You can pick up everything you need to make your own! Cheers!

VI Lover - try Baked in the Sun on St. John... you can visit their website to get an idea of what they have: http://www.stjohnbakery.com/.

How about a rum cake another night... or if you can find a coconut tart - they are yummy too!

Rum Cake!!! I completely forgot about Rum Cake! I must really need a vacation (good thing I'm heading South in less than 3 weeks!).

Thanks Islander for the ideas and the web site.

Skinny Legs has an awesome Key Lime Pie, not sure if they sell entire pie's or not. Had theirs for the first time last June.

We're staying on the Coral Bay side, so maybe the best idea is to have dinner, then head down to Shipwreck or Skinny's for our dessert and after dinner drinks!

Thanks for the advice!

My name is Jay and I am keylimepieaholic. Here is a link to my dealer. Ed makes the best key lime that I have had since me moved here. He sells it to alot of the high end restaurants on St Thomas.

Thanks a BUNCH for the number!!!

All 3 couples share your addiction to the sweet and tart delicacy of this indulgence dessert! I really hope to secure a pie for the villa - just seems "right" to sit by the pool, looking at the stars, enjoying our dessert, recapping the day, and planning tomorrow.

The BIGGEST and BEST key lime pie is at Banana Tree Grille. Call ahead and you can take it home.

Jay - Thanks for the tip. After hook, line & sinker was out of Ed's pies, I used your info to contact him myself, and we picked it up yesterday - all four of us have been in key lime heaven ever since! We also had skinny legs the other day; even partially frozen it was really good - but Ed truly takes the cake - or the pie in this case!

Just got back yesterday. I'll write a trip report when I find the time.

We didn't get a KLP for the villa, but did have it at several places throughout the week. Shipwreck Landing had the best flavor, but was really frozen. Skinny Legs was flavorful, but really small slice. Morgan's Mango was on an Oreo Cookie crust and was magnificent!

As a southern "girl" hate to admit this but the Key Lime Pie ($6.50) at Cost U Less is some of the best I ever had. Take your own whipped cream.

Okay - I just realized that I'm a liar!! We DID go to Cost U Less for groceries and DID buy a pre-made Key Lime Pie. How could I forget? And - yes you are right - it was really good.

The best Key Lime Pie, bar none, is at the Banana Tree Grill at Bluebeards Castle in STT ! It is covered with heavenly meringue and has a fantastic cookie crust. I dream about it !!!
