Okay, I'll say in advance that I'm embarrased to post this but what the heck, i'm among friends!!!
I'm a Kenny Chesney fan and saw him in concert recently and while I was looking at some recent pictures that were posted on this sight the song about the "Old Blue Chair" of his came on my ITunes and so I'm wondering... have any of you ever seen him while vacationing there or know any interesting tid bits of his living there? Just random thinking on my part, but I do love how he describes the feeling of being on St. John in that song and mentions Cinnamon Bay and it added so much to looking at the pictures! I think at least one of his albums was written in great part while he was there. Anyone know anything that will fuel my interest?
Is Kenny even seen in St. J in October?
Im a fan but want to respect the fact that he's there on his "private time". What's the best way to approach him. I at least wanna say hi and tell him how much his music affected me, and maybe a pic Or is that a no no?
I've been in and out of hospitals throughout my life, and his music makes me feel stronger.
He's in and out all the time so you will never know!

it pleases me no end to see this thread is still alive and kicking! i have no KC sighting to report from my trip although apparently i missed him in the quiet mon one day by mere minutes! it was probably for the best as i can only imagine i would have created quite the scene..."oh YOU'RE kenny cheseney?? i have a great idea for a t-shirt...babble babble message board babble.....how's yer tractor babble...."
ah well sure life goes on,maybe some day our paths will cross again.....sniff.....
He was in New Orleans and was actually practicing with the Saints. Did quite well from the report I saw on CNN! Got them today off.

Ron,
I have to say that YOU are a good sport.
Hi.
We saw Kenny in Columbia, MO and St. Louis this year. We were in the 2nd row for the Columbia show and during the middle of the concert everyone just ran up to the stage. I was close enough that I could touch his feet and got some awesome pictures. My husband has a "Kenny" hat from Sunbody and Kenny autographed it at the end of the show. My husband was really excited. It's going into a display case now.
We will be in St. John from 12/30-1/10 this year and wanted to know if anyone knows where Kenny hangs out on New Year's Eve? I have a friend that lives on St. Thomas and she told me that he normally goes over to Jost (Ivan's) every year, but I saw pics on Woody's website of he and Big Kenny of Big & Rich one year on NY's Eve. She told me Kenny throws a party every year on NY's Day and that one of her friends was invited a couple of years ago. Wouldn't that be a riot!
My friend said that the Jost ferry runs all night from there to St. John on NY's Eve. Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks!
Weary might have his Kenny Safari Ferry, and Helicopter Service up and running by then.
I will also be in the BVIs this New Year''s Eve and I'm a huge Kenny fan too. Would be curious also if anyone knows where he might party while he's down. With the new album will he even make it that way? I heard that Foxy's gets pretty crazy and had ideas about going there...but would welcome any suggestions!
You could try throwing your own potluck ping-pong party. Heard he was a fan of
sport eating.
Too funny DC.

I just watched the video - "That's why I'm here" & it shows him with his hat off in 1997. Sure looks different!!
Eagle??? Are you offering up the FORBIDDEN Kenny thread???
I am a huge Kenny Chesney fan as well as St John fan... BUT, I also feel like he deserves his privacy. He comes there to unwind so he can offer us the shows/energy/dedication to perfection we all crave from him. SO...If you run into him great!!!...if you don't then oh well. Atleast you were in a beautiful place with a lot of other great people around to hang out with. I have thought about aligning myself to run into him...I would probably be more of an observer than one to actully disrupt his evening.
Who needs pics...that is rude when they are on personal time. I would just tell the story of when and know that you respected him...and laugh at all the others that interupt his night...OR jump in the pic with them, hahaha! Then maybe he will continue to come and visit. Otherwise he may BUY his own island and then we will never be honored with his presence. An island where only he and his already tight-nit group will go. That would suck.
Yea, I know....he brought it on himself, he knew what he was getting into...I have heard all of that...BUT who really knows HOW big they will get...Put yourself in his shoes. Wouldn't you want a place to escape without sitting at home all the time...ALONE. Do not get me wrong. I love him and what he represents but I would hate to scare him away from the one place he feels himself. That would be sad for HIM and US!
Just my thoughts...Love the thread!

Well Dream...you're right, I couldn't resist. Check out the latest: http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/showbiz/2007/09/10/intv.meade.chesney.cnn
Eagles, thanks for that link. I can't figure out how to put links on this forum.
The funniest video I saw of Kenny was for his song "How Forever Feels". No shirt, no hat and wow, he had at least 20 more pounds on him. Now he looks like he too skinny.
I've always wanted to plan a trip to the Caribbean, I just didn't know where. A few years ago I saw some pictures of KC on a beach and I asked where he was. That's when I found out about this little island that I'm going to in 19 days. The more I learned about STJ, the more I wanted to go there. I love the fact that it's mostly national park and it'll be a great place to get away from it all. I don't like Kenny enough for him to have actually influenced my decision much past introducing me to the US Virgin Islands (and actually I have a friend who is from St. Croix who helped significantly). I think everyone, Kenny included, does. I hate the thought of people interrupting his downtime for pictures and nagging him for autographs. I just don't bother people like that when they're not "working." (And even when they are working, I'm not overly demanding of people who just happen to make their living by acting or making music.)
A few years ago, I met a singer at a concert. His wife was a famous actress and she was also there. She was mobbed by fans. After the concert, people asked me if I'd met his wife (who is probably more famous than he is), and I told them "No, I didn't bother her because she was not working. She was just there enjoying the show like everyone else."
Maybe I'm odd in that I don't feel like celebrities "owe" us. I wouldn't bother them at a concert, and I surely wouldn't bother them on an island in the middle of nowhere. And it really disturbs me that people do.
Lulu, I'm with you 100%. This KC thread just is continually regurgitated all a-babble with endless twittering about where he might or might not iive on STJ, where he might or might not hang out, etc.. Notwitstanding the "local" speculation, then there are pics of his latest concert and updates of latest CD's, etc. Obviously there are those who give a rat's patootie but the majority of fthose who live here don't give a flying bat's ass. "Stars" and "celebrities" are here all the time and us residents just basically leave them alone. Cheers!
I was just going to say he has a message board all his own over at KennyChesney.com where folks can talk about him until the cows come home. Then I realized that conversation about where he may or may not live and may or may not hang out is highly discouraged there. Perhaps that's why folks migrate elsewhere.
I'm probably the only person on earth with her fingers and toes crossed that I WON'T run into him on vacation ... and I really don't get the folks that spend thousands of dollars to go to an island for a stakeout in case he just might be there. (Of course, being that I live in Nashville, I guess I could just stalk him at the grocery store for free if I were so inclined. I've seen him in his natural element, folks. It ain't all it's cracked up to be unless you've never seen a miniature man before.)
I can see the point of the locals. It's got to get annoying to always be asked questions about him. I know folks ask me about him here all the time, and it drives me nuts. And I'm pretty sure that he spends much more time on STJ then he spends here in Nashville. Kenny's fans seem to be the worst about tracking his every move. I'm not sure what it is. I absolutely love Nick Lachey, but when someone mentioned to me they saw him in a Cincinnati ice cream shop, I didn't need to know what flavor he got, and I SURELY didn't sit there for the rest of my visit to the Queen City waiting for him to get the jones for a sundae and come back.
I know people like him. And I know people like STJ because of him. That's all fine and good. But no one's going to get any points in heaven (and definitely not with him) for going to paradise and spending so much time looking for him that they miss the beauty of the VIs.
This thread certainly seems to greatly irritate a number of people. The topic makes it pretty clear what it's going to be about. A good strategy might be to just not click on it, pass it by, let it be. We're really not required to read every single thread. I never read those threads asking for a good painkiller or bushwhacker recipe.
I'm just glad that they're clearly identified and nobody's tricking me into reading a thread that I find irritating. If I choose to read a thread that I know will irritate me, then that's a problem of my own making.
I should add----I don't care for Kenny's music, but I do find the fan phenomenon interesting.
