Okay, I'll say in advance that I'm embarrased to post this but what the heck, i'm among friends!!!

I'm a Kenny Chesney fan and saw him in concert recently and while I was looking at some recent pictures that were posted on this sight the song about the "Old Blue Chair" of his came on my ITunes and so I'm wondering... have any of you ever seen him while vacationing there or know any interesting tid bits of his living there? Just random thinking on my part, but I do love how he describes the feeling of being on St. John in that song and mentions Cinnamon Bay and it added so much to looking at the pictures! I think at least one of his albums was written in great part while he was there. Anyone know anything that will fuel my interest?

Amen Islander. I am not into Kenny C at all....don't even know wnat he sings. But, if the good forumites here want to use this thread as a light-hearted cafe', I'm all for it. I've seen nothing offensive or confrontational.

We all need more good times.

There still selling ALOT of cruzan rum at those concerts. I saw it and I consumed it. So, they're making money somehow.

Islander, thanks for clearing things up.

Blu...so glad you spoke up. You're always such a cheerful person in all your posts.

I wish some people could just chill out and relax about these posts. We love the VI's and so does KC. We have something in common.

I've decided what I'm bringing...Cruzan Rum..that's easy!

Connie,

I agree with anything you write...because of the flip flops! 🙂

I've been wearing nothing but flip-flops for 3 months. They look good with business suits!

Promo ,
Well aware of the money Cruzan paid to Kenny, but believe me in the 5 years that they have sponsered his concerts it has done wonders for the product.
I love Kenny's music & concerts but I vacationed in STJ long before he got there. I just think he is a nice advertisment for the VI's & BVI's through his music. Each year at the end of his tour he flies his whole road crew & band down to the Westin for a week. Not a bad gig for the crew & Westin. More money back to STJ.

So, back to Kenny. He has a new c.d. coming out? I didn't know. He has so many albums.

The name of the new album is Just Who I Am Poets and Pirates. His first single from the album is playing on the radio now. The name of it is Never Wanted Nothing More. The album is suppost to be released on Sept. 11. Looking forward to it but, Be As You Are will be hard to beat because of the island vibe it has.

There's an old adage in the record/music industry. Get 'em out while you're on top cuz when the slide comes ain't nobody listening or buying.

I also love the "Be As You Are" CD, but "The Road and the Radio" is also another favorite. Has the song "Summertime" and "Beer in Mexico" - 2 great songs!

I also love the song he did awhile back with Uncle Kracker - "When the Sun Goes Down" for all those out there who are just learning about Kenny - check out these songs.

....the sun and the sand and a drink in my hand.... (my favorite lyrics of all time!)

Most of what I know about Kenny--aside from the strange business with Renee (and that REALLY was strange)---I learned in Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenny_chesney

One intriguing fact is that he graduated from East Tennessee State University with a degree in advertising. That's advertising. His education is paying off.

i did listen to one of his songs to see what so many people are so excited about.

Listen to that Be As You Are album. The song with the same name is about hanging at the Quiet Mon and being as you are no matter who you are!

Yes, but "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" needs to go down in the history books as the WORST titled song in the history of mankind.....

Visitors pay heed to his lyrics about sleeping off a drunk on the beach one night and waking up with a million bug bites....well, at least he hits reality too.....
