*Could you give me a price range for 1/2 day and all day kayaking trips for 6-15 people?

Also interested in best place to go--around island? Paddle to another island?

Conditions for paddling -- one person or 2 person kayaks advisable? (how much chop?

Suggestion for best "all around" travel guide book to purchase? (I like hiking, and away from lots of crowds)

Thanks!

Vigin Islands Ecotours is offering a new tour inside the Virgin Islands National Park at Caneel Bay. called the Guided Kayak, Hike & Snorkel Tour of Caneel Bay, St. John.

I just did the tour last week and it was the most fantastic kayak tour that I have experienced from Ketchikan Alasa all the south to Barbados!

First, you kayak along the Caneel Bay Beach, Paradise and Scott Beaches. We saw turtles swimming in Scott Beach. The waters are a beautiful turquoise with colorful coral reefs below. Next, the hike took us over Turtle Point where there is a fabulous view of the Durloe Cays. We got photos of two dolphins frolicing in the rough waves in that small channel. It was so exciting to see them. The first dolphins I ever saw! the trail lead us over Turtle Point and again, more breathtaking views. the guide was tremendous and pointed out all the interesting trees, vines and cactus along the way. At the end of the trail, we came to Caneel Hawksnest Beach where we had a fabulous snorkel over a coral reef in a protected bay. From there, we walked back to our kayaks, and enjoyed the paddle back to Caneel beach.

After that breathtaking and memorable tour, we really enjoyed treating ourselves to an amazing lunch buffet at the five star Caneel Bay resort. The food was incredible... outstanding,,, by any standards! I fully recommend anyone lucky enough to get reservations on this tour (space is very limited) to bring along a very nice outfit, so that you can enjoy a terrific meal afterwards.

We made our reservations in advance through Caneel Bay's Activies Center, call 340.776.6111. The price is $75 per person and the tours depart at 9 am and 1 pm from the Caneel Bay Dock. ENJOY!
