Just got back from STX and I have to say I have truly fallen in love! I knew just by perusing this site that I would want to live there, but now I am certain. Buck Island was beautiful. I did not really do too much...just took the time to unwind & relax. I will be getting a second job and plan on moving there at the end of 2006 or early 2007! STX is certainly the place to be...and the millipedes in the room did not even bother me ;0)

Autumn,

How did you like staying at the Krongrade Inn? Sounds like you had a fabulous time! It's funny how St. Croix gets under your skin--- we get to go back in 2 weeks and I can't wait!

Paula,
The Kronegade was really not too bad. It was very clean and had the little kitchenette type set up. It is not luxurious by any means, but I felt comfortable and safe there. I was actually looking for a ticket to come over again in Feb, but I think I will try to wait until later in the summer months. I will certainly be moving there....the anticipation is killing me. I have to say that when I went for a walk at my local beach in San Diego (Mission Beach) I looked over the water and saw smog hanging around. It was truly amazing over there to see such clear skies with no smog ;0)

It sounds like you really have island fever! I was there last spring and couldn't wait to get back! We have a week and 1/2 now till we leave and the anticipation is killing me too! I just hope time drags while we're there this time. If you happen to go back in feb you might enjoy going on the house tours that the landmark society puts on. Everyone meets at the ball park and go from there to tour four different homes each Wednesday in February. Summer is a good time, too. I seem to remember the colors of the sky and water were more blue then and all the Flamboyant trees were in bloom--- just beautiful. Glad you had such a good time!

Glad you had a good time. I look forward to reading your thoughts on the hotel, any restaurants you tried, your favorite beach...!

All of the beaches were my favorite...compared to our icky ones here....I really did not try any restaurants...a local friend of mine took me to some little place of which I forget the name. Hopefully I will be back there this summer and be able to explore a bit more. My trip was cut short by about a full 10 hours due to some airline issues...BUT I won't even got there about that situation ;0)
