What a great time we had....2 adults, 2 kids........haven't been back to STX in 4 years...the island is green and lush....streets are clean...fresh paint on buildings......they really are trying to clean things up! Did the usual...rum factory, buck island, rum runners,Divi, Duggans (saw the contessa), off the wall beach bar...(a kid favorite)
great dinner at Tutto Bene.
Can't wait to go back...hopefully this summer..........
There have been a few sightings of the Contessa over the past few weeks. We missed her by an hour at Tivili Gardens last week. Some people staying at the PF saw her there. We were leaving when they arrived.
Glad to hear you had a good time. Where did you stay, any feedback on it? Who did you use for Buck Island, how was that? Did you rent a car, from who and was it good customer service ect.?
Thanks for sharing.

We stayed at Mill Harbour where my inlaws have had a place since it opened. We have certainly seen it's ups and downs. The condo was clean and functional. Great for family because of the pool and restaurant right there. The beach is good for snorkeling, but not swimming. We took trips to Divi and Davis Bay as well as Cane Bay for the beaches. We had fun at Hotel on the Cay for a day in the sun..and returned for the Tuesday show. Kids loved it....Just ok for adults. We used Bluebeards for Buck Island trip...half day......great time. Waters were very calm that day so we had to motor out both ways....instruction was great for my 11 year old. Rented a car from Avis......very nice...even gave us a car seat because ours was lost with our luggage. USAIR was also cooperative with trying to find our bags. I hear this is happening more and more..(lost luggage). The airport facility is much improved from our last trip in 1999. You absolutally need a lot of time to go through customs, especially if you have a lot of bags...they went through everything! not a bad thing, but am glad that I arrived in plenty of time. My husband and I were chatting about why St Croix does not seem a popular destination. We truely had a great time....ate fabulous food, very casual but 5 star.
The beauty of the island take you over, and all the locals I encountered were friendly. We attended church in the chapel in the low income housing area where you really get to see the local people's true side.......kind and welcoming. There of coarse are areas to avoid......but that applies to any place you go........On one hand, I wish St. Croix had a better rep...but on the other hand, I kind of like it the way it is......my family's special secret vacation spot...unspoiled beauty!
Thanks for the vacation review!!
Your tip about customs is a good one; the past couple of trips I took from St. Thomas there must have been 5 stops to see something (id, boarding pass, passport, customs form, id again...)
