*Hi- my husband and I will have an opportunity to vacation in June without our kids. Considerring June-November is hurricane season, how much of a gamble would it be to plan a vacation to the Virgin Islands June 16-21?
And, where should we go for fabulous beaches and good snorkeling?
Thank you!
Although June to November is the official season, things don't get exciting until August and beyond.
STJ hands down for beaches and snorkeling, but STT and STX are not second rate by any means. Depending upon what accommodations you can find (STT or STJ) you can easily visit the other by ferry. Going from STX to the others is more involved as you need to fly that time of year.
Hello Jennifer,
June is fine, not much of a gamble in terms of hurricanes as it isn't a month that historically has much hurricane activity for the VI. Click on the weather link in the top, right corner of this page and you can find hurricane stats by month.
What island are you considering? We can then give suggestions on beaches and snorkeling spots.

I've been a mid-June STT/STJ visitor for the past 6 years....
never a problem....
except the Jellyfish at Sapphire, where we were staying (late June, not sure if this was normal - I think this was 2000)
and the earthquakes (I think 2002)
