Hi!
I am getting married next June and we are thinking about honeymooning in VI. We are looking for recommendations about which island is the best for honeymoon. We are also really interested in information about the weather. What is the weather like in June? Is it really warm?
Also, are there any recommendations for good resorts?
Thanks!
St. John is a prettier island. The majority of the island is National Forest, therefore the roads seemed better maintained. The beaches were amazing!!!!! We statyed on St. Thomas last July and took the ferry over to St. John. Now, for my 10th year anniversary, I want to go back, but stay on St. John. There is just no comparison between the two islands. Truck Bay is the most beautiful place I've ever been to!!
St. Thomas is more commercialized and there is more to do as far as night life. St. John has a few bars near the ferry docks. If you want secluded, honemoon surroundings....St. John is where you want to be.
We did a day sail on Scubadu. We also went to Jost Van Dyke (a BVI) and visited the Soggy Dollar Bar which makes a great Nilla Killa (a drink) and has a nice beach with chairs/hammocks to relax on.
Hands down, the Carribean waters are just magnificent and you really won't be dissapointed with your honeymoon!!
ST Croix is also a beautiful island. We tend to emphasize our historic aspects, as well as our great beaches and laid back attitude. But we're no good for island hopping, too far south.
Consider Water Island for your honeymoon if you want a nice quiet island and private beaches. There are a handful of houses avail for rent. No hotels. The houses come with golf carts for use on Water Island--no taxi fees. June weather is nice. Water is clear and warm. Breezes cool things down at night. Much of Water Island is undeveloped and great for exploring. It is not a night life island. It is a great place for privacy and beauty. It is easy to get to St thomas from WI. Or even take a day trip to St John. Take a look at http://www.vrbo.com for housing available.
You can see all islands if you consider chartering a yacht. Wake up every morning in a different secluded location. It's a great way to explore the islands on the water. Check out www.Charterdigest.com. Many yachts to choose from, especially in June. The trade winds will help you keep a little bit cooler on the water as well, especially in June.
