We are staying in St. T in a couple of weeks. We have scheduled a private boat charter to go to Jost Van Dyke on one day. On past trips to VI we have gone to JVD - Soggy Dollar Bar as one stop-over on an excursion of several points of interest during the day. This time, we are hoping to spend the day at or around JVD and we are looking for suggestions of places to visit on that day. In general we like checking out fun eating places, beaches, bars and just hanging out at fun spots "people watchin" and having a fun time taking in the local flavor. Any suggestions, in addition to SDB and of course Foxy's?
A great JVD for us includes a beginning at Ivan's "Stress Free" Campground. We'll get there 10am and just "chill" for a couple hours. Ivan's has an honor-bar so help yourself, write it down in the log, and settle-up when you are ready to leave. We then walk over-the-hill to Soggy Dollar. There are multiple beach bars all along White Bay, and we tend to go to each one, do a little shopping, and sample their beverages. Last time, I was on a Bushwacker comparison trip. Good thing I didn't have to drive home! When we begin to tire of White Bay, we grab a taxi to Foxy's. Plenty to see and do there (eat, drink, and be merry plus a really nice shop).
Our JVD day is normally done via public ferry. It leaves at 3pm so we make our way back around 2:45.
Your private charter captain should have some other GREAT recommendations for you. Just let them know what kind of things you like, and they'll use their local knowledge to make sure you have a great day. Trust them! It's their profession - you just relax!
Good Luck! Have Fun!
