All the way up top of this page, underneath the search box, are the ferry schedules. I looked, but it seems to me that you would have to leave from STT to go to JVD?

I can't get anything to come up on the ferries to Jost Van Dyke either. When I click on it within the ferry schedule section, nothing comes up. Is it still running?

we took the ferry (on a Sat) from STT, which stopped over on STJ then went on to JVD. we had to get off the ferry in Cruz Bay to pay etc, then back on the ferry and on to Jost. Best day of the week!!!

Look under st thomas, st john to jost van dyke. it's the fourth or bottom of the USVI/BVI ferry schedules. ( I had trouble getting the link to work) It is Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 8:30am from Cruz Bay. Think it returns around 3. Other days ferry to West End, Tortola, and then ferry to Jost - ferry runs every couple of hours from WE.

Mountaineer Spirit

Great pictures!! Is the ferry dropoff within walking distance of the white bay beach area?
Any info would be helpful.

visiting spirit,

Try this link ( http://www.b-v-i.com/JostVanDyke/default.htm). It provides a lot of information about JVD including distances.

Visiting Spirit,
The ferry drops you off at the dock at Great Harbor, you will clear customs there. Foxy's and a few other restraunts are there. Won't be much going on in the day. There will be a couple of cabs there that will take you over to White's Bay for the Day and the will likely arraing to pick you back up in time to make it back to the ferry in the afternoon. It's a small island only 100 or so full time residents and they all know each other. You are in for a treat.

www.dolphinshuttle.com runs regular service to JVD from STJ and Red Hook. They even include beer and soda.

It returns around 5pm, which beats catching the 3pm ferry back.

I can't get the schedule, etc. to come up either. What is the round trip fee from STJ to Jost, and do you purchase a round trip ticket or one way each time? Are advance reservations required, or do you just get in line (like going from STT to STJ)? If purchase at time of departure, how much time in advance should we arrive to make sure we get a ticket?

Here you go - it's old but current 🙂 I think the price is now $50.00 You purchase at time of departure and be there maybe 30 mins before I guess (I never take the ferry so not 100% on that but imagine 30 mins is ample) but you can always call them - number is at the bottom.

Red Hook, St. Thomas to Cruz Bay, St. John, to Great Harbour, Jost Van Dyke, BVI: This is about a 45 minute ride and costs $40 round trip. Friday, Saturday and Sundays only, reservations are recommended.

Departing Red Hook, St. Thomas:
8:00 A.M.
2:00 P.M.

Departing Cruz Bay, St. John:
8:30 A.M.
2:20 P.M.

Departing Jost Van Dyke, BVI:
9:15 A.M.
3:00 P.M.

It is $50 now for the ferry through Inter-Island to Jost. They told us to be there at 8:15 at the latest for the 8:30 ferry.

Of course, the ferry was on island time and didn't leave until after 9, but you'll have that.
