Was anyone interested in going in on charter boat Lion In Da Sun during the first week of August? My husband & I are going to be in St. John and wanted to do a day trip to Jost Van Dyke, however would rather do a private charter and the minimum is 6:)

We're not going to the VI's anytime soon, but I just wanted to say hope you have a blast! We loved hanging out on Jost during our trips. Enjoy yourselves!! 🙂

You may have mis-typed - the Maximum is 6 persons not the minimum.
Their rates page states the full and half day cost and what it includes.
They run a fine vessel and do a great job -- finding someone to share it with is an economic idea but not necessary -- they will certainly take just the 2 of you if you want.

I had emailed them and they had actually recommended me posting on this site to try to add a few more people . Thanks for mentioning the 1/2 day trip, that could work too:)

Sorry, will just miss you by a couple of weeks. We are going in July and hope to do the same thing. I see that many say that they "don't combine groups", but there are just the two of us and we certainly can't afford a $600-1000 day trip. Hope to see the sites of BVI in one great trip! So much to do, so little time. Gotta see the baths!

Try taking the ferry over...it's less expensive.

You could actually go out to Jost Van Dyke on a larger boat like New Horizons 2. When you see how you have to swim with a noodle to White Bay. They can't dock right at the beach. The current is really strong and it is tough getting back. They also said that there can be 4-6 feet swells getting out to BVI, so a smaller boat like Lion In Da Sun could make you sea sick.

Just a thought for something different. You didn't say where you are starting from.

I would book my boat trip after I get there and see what the weather and ocean is like on a particular day.
