Hello,
This is our second time in STT. I need info on who has the best prices/ reputation on Tanzanite jewelry. While cost is a consideration, so is quality.
Thanks, S.Meyr

My wife works for Tiffany (you know...blue box, white ribbon...). While down that way 3 weeks ago, we got 2 pieces for her. One, surprisingly, came from Columbian Emeralds on Tortola. It was a Tanzanite ring, smaller stones in a channel-type setting.

We hit the mother lode in CA though. At Bellerina Jewlers, we found a hand-made piece. It's a bracelet made from white gold that's made to look like it's small flowers. The tanzanites are the flowers.

She's got an eye for the stones and said that they looked good. We'd looked at some other stuff at Ballerina, and she thought they all looked good.

I thikn I recall that whatever the setting is, it needs to "protect" the stone. Tanzanites are apparently fragile stones and need support. She, for example, won't use the sonic cleaners at work on her tanzanites because they might fracture or all but blow up.

She's also said that the stones should all be of similar color in a piece and they should be less purple and more towards a saphire.

And...never pay price tag price. The bracelet from Ballerina said $1035 and we paid $290.
