When does jellyfish season start (if there is such a thing) around the waters of STT/STJ?

Usually they "bloom" in the summer- July-August or so.

Funny, Eastender. My five year old asked me the same question. ... if I was going with Mr.Squarepants. Gotta love Spongebob though. Best was when he and Patrick took Squidward jellyfishing.

To be serious for a second...the most frequent jellyfish is the Moon jelly, not too bad a sting and fairly easy to spot. There are also sea wasps which have a tougher sting and are more difficult to see. Last summer there was some sort of stinging cauliflower variety that was unusual. They are prolific in certain bays for a month or two and then go away...mysteriously...until next year...
