Need 2 jeeps to rent when we visit STT. Please give me list of most reasonable, reliable, jeep/car rental agencies. DO NOT want vehicles that are all BEAT up. Would like place with newer jeeps for rent. Girl trip, go figure. LOL!

Thanks

I'm not sure you will get many promises on condition, sometimes you just get what you get....

Here's the two I looked at for June, I reserved one from Dependable...

Good Luck and have fun...

I second Sherban on Dependable. We especially like the 4 door Wranglers. We've rented from them in November and March and the vehicles were well taken care of. They pick you up at the airport in the jeep you are renting, you drop your luggage in and do not move the luggage again until you are at your accomodations. They allow you to take the car barge to STJ too.

Cheers, RickG

RickG,

I was hoping for a response from you. I'm guessing you live on STT. I seem to see your responses on several inquiries people make.

I guess I'm leaning toward Dependable. Got an email quite from them already. You've made my decision easier.

Matter of fact I think I read something about restaurants with a view and you listed in order 3 choices recently. Have a question on those. Does Room with a View have a balcony with an awesome view of the bay? I saw a pix of Mafolie---awesome view. I want to book a reservation with one of those who will guarantee the outdoor patio for us near sunset time. Speaking of that---what time does the sun set in late August????

Thanks for the help.

Sorry I can't help with your restaurant questions but just an FYI that RickG doesn't live in STT. He is just a frequent St. John visitor.

Enjoy your trip!

belly002,
Since I am an escort/greeter, I work with car rentals on a daily basis. Dependable is good, but make sure you are not arriving late, they close at 5pm sharp. If your plane is late (after 5), you will not get your car.
My favorite company is Amalie, tell them where you are staying and that I recommended you and will get a better rate. You can compare rates first. The reason I like them the best is: They are at the airport UPON your arrival and you will get your vehicle even before your luggage comes out! They keep the cars clean and in EXCELLENT condition. They do not allow smoking in their vehicles either! They also have larger Jeeps and all of you could fit in one. If you end up still renting 2, bring along a pair of walkie-talkie's so the people in the 2 vehicles can communicate with each other!
If I can be of any help to you in any way, please feel free to contact me!

belly002,

When we were there a month ago we used Avis. They're right in the airport. We rented a 2 door Jeep. It was in great condition with leather seats. We took the top down the minute we got it. 😎 The comany was great to work with. Didn't run into any problems.

DEFINITELY go for discount car rental www.discountcar.vi
Its family owned, the owner is very friendly. Plus he allows you to take your car over to St. John - something that not all rental agencies allow. From my experience, they are the cheapest on the island, especially if you are staying a week or more. I rented a brand new, four-door wrangler when I was there last year and it was EXCELLENT! They will pick you up and drop you back off at the airport, which is definitely convenient.

Cristina, do you remember what your rate was for the 4 doors?

It was less than $400 for a week in May I think..... maybe around $350, I'm not sure, you'd have to call and check.
