Jeep compass on St. John?

After reading the reviews on car rental companies here on the message board, we switched our reservation from budget to Avis...but all they have are Jeep Compas cars or similar. We are staying in the Coral Bay area...and from what I can tell, the Compas is not a 4x4. Has anyone rented in this category from Avis and had trouble getting around on the roads in St. John?

I would check with the rental company, but the Compass does come with a 4WD option. You should check with your villa rental agency about the need for 4WD. I try not to use 4WD because it sucks gas. Our trip in November I did not use 4WD once. Still, I always reserve 4WD just in case.
