Looking to find some places to hear good jazz. I want to stay away from the young ballcap backwards Budweiser crowd.
I will be in St. Thomas in February.
Thanks,
Bruce
Bruce - If you find something when you're down there, would you please e-mail me? I'll be in the VI in April, and usually get there at least once a year. But now that I'm divorced, my new lady would enjoy something other than shopping, although she does her share of that too! Thanks!!
Al
Currently you will (probably) find the following:
Blue Moon- James Smith on the saxophone Thursday nights.
Fagioli Resaurant- Arthur Williams saxophone Friday and Saturday nights.
Seafood Jungle- Jazz and standards with Sally and Mr. B. Friday night.
Check the Island Trader (free newspaper that comes out every Wednesday) or the Thursday Daily News "This Weekend" section for anything current. And call ahead- you know how the music scene is!! Stay away from the Greenhouse, Off Shore Bar and Duffy's if you don't want to see any backwards baseball caps!
Try the "Friday Night Alternative" from 6pm to 8 pm at American Yacht Harbor (on the Marlin Deck behind Color of Joy). Excellent local jazz artists "Sunshine" Sally Smith, Mr."B" and friends, Wine, crackers and cheese, always excellent local art on sale, and sometimes poetry, magic. . It's always fun and it's FREE! Come join us.
