I am wanting to stay at Ivan's campground on JVD. Has anyone stayed there before? What what your experience like? I was in st. john last year and was thinking that jvd would be even better! just looking to sit on the beach, swim and hang with friends at the bars. any thoughts or comments about jvd, ivan's campground or what to do on the trip would be nice
cheers,
beachgirl

We're staying in an Ivan's cabin on Friday the 9th. I'll include details in my trip report. This will be our first time spending an overnight there - we've been to JVD on 3 other occasions, only for the daylight hours.

we've stayed on jost at Ivans and Sandcastles. never more than 3-4 days.....we split vacation between Jost & St. John. we love Jost ..LOVE Ivans !! it is ..imo.. the best pace ever to relax ! Ivan is a great host and is so friendly/talented. we've stayed in the cabins...pretty basic. the last one we had included a king bed and a single, small refrig. and a fan, sheets /light blanket too . community bathrooms( seperate for male/female) shared showers. kitchen available for all guests....we never cook but if inclined it's fairly well equipted. can fix a light breakfast there or better yet walk over to Sandcastles for their morning offerings. we always try to be on Jost for a thursday so we get be at Ivans BBq.......always good food, great music, eclectic group of people and we've brought home some wonderfull memories !! dinner time we usually go into Great Harbour, Corsairs, Ali Babas, Foxys ( some great nights of dancing ) a nice time to be had, is to rent a car for the day and go to the bubbly pool( if the swells are up it's a blast..then drinks and lunch at Taboo...GREAT FUN !! if you want to be waited on and pampered by "the pool boy" Ivans is not for you....for me it's heaven !!! we're going back to Jost in 52 days !!!
