I have finally talked my wife into a return trip to St. Thomas. It took me 2 months since our return from there. I am planning to do plenty of Scuba Diving and snorkeling. What are some must hit beaches for snorkeling? I have been to Secret Harbor, Coki, and Trunk. What am I missing. Please help.

Beer...congratulations, it didn't take you long.

Let me suggest one beach and others can chime in. I really like Sapphire. There's alot of snorkeling close to shore and then you can swim out, a little bit to your left and there's pretty good snorkeling there too. We saw so many sea urchins, that i think are just beautiful.

Good luck and congrats again.

When are you going?

Don't forget to go to Magens in the early morning (8-9 am). Go to the FAR left by the rocks. We saw more there than anywhere ( schools of tarpon, nurse sharks, baracuda). If you venture over to STJ, Waterlemon is the best IMHO.

You should shop on line here on the forum for some books
St.Johns off the beaten path and Best of St.Thomas are 2 really good ones
they will tell you of the best places to snorkel that not to many people know about plus they tell of alot of the VI history's and such
Glad you get to go back
The Vi's are pretty addictive aren't they!

I second the purchase of either book. Also agree that Waterlemon is great but there are many more. Strongly suggest Francis, especially along the Northern end (RH side looking out) toward Whistling Cay. If you take one of the smaller 6 pack day cruises you can get to off island places. Wayward Sailor is very good and Captain Phil might stock some Bud if you ask beforehand.

The books are a really great idea. I have a few from the local book store, but they don't really go into detail about beaches, they are more about hotels and food. I will have to check it out. Thanks.

We are looking to go in June and we will stay at Secret Harbor again.

Keep the info coming.

I was looking into a daysail has anyone done Jester?

BH - I'm so jealous!! I want a return trip so bad, but with going to Aruba in the spring and putting in a pool next year, there is no way on earth its going to be possible for quite a while. and if I do return, I want to spend a night on Jost. I would definitely stay at Secret Harbour again also - we just loved it. until then, I have to live my life thru others here on this forum... 🙂
