Hi,
We are going to St Thomas in March and would like to island hop to Virgin Gorda for one night. Is there a good way to do this? We were thinking we could do half of a day trip to Virgin Gorda, returning on the return trip the following day. I didn't notice any regular ferry service that would support this.
Thanks,
David
Ferry schedule was the one thing that prevented us from visiting Virgin Gorda. There was only one ferry that left STT at 8 AM and returned at 3:30 PM. These only ran on 2 days: Thursdays and ________ (I forget---but I think it was Saturday?).
You're right, no current ferry schedule supports your plan to return on the next day. But you can take a water taxi any day of the week but it was cost you more. Sorry but I don't know the prices....
We took the Inter Island Transportation Services Ferry from St. Thomas (Red Hook) to Virgin Gorda on Christmas Day. They run Thursday and Sunday. Leave St. Thomas at 8:00 a.m. and return at 3:00 p.m. Round trip is 50/person. One way is 30/person. From what we understand, it's usually no problem to take a ferry out to Virgin Gorda one way and then negotiate with another ferry company or private charter to get back the next day. During our time on Virgin Gorda, we felt that the few hours to enjoy The Baths was enough. We dined at the Top of the Baths Restaurant and felt that unless we were staying several days, there was no point in staying overnight. But that's our opinion. Ferry schedules can be found at another website...I don't know if I can mention it? You can email me if you want and I'll tell you then.

Hello,
All ferry schedules for the USVI including St. Thomas/St. John to the BVI are on this site under Ferry Schedules.

You can go for a day or combine the visit with Tortola, take a one way from Stt to VG then one way from VG to Tortola spend some time there and then one way back to Stt from Torotola.
