Can anyone share their favorite mixed drink recipe....one that is great for sitting poolside or on the beach. Am thinking something with rum?? Am not a beer drinker and really want something that makes me feel like I am on vacation. I know about the painkillers ( and am looking forward to having a few) but don't have any recipes that we can make at our villa.
Thanks!
Cruzan produces an excellent assortment of flavored rums - Banana, Black Cherry, Citrus, Coconut, Guava, Orange, Mango, Pineapple, Raspberry, Vanilla) and all are very tasty either on the rocks or mixed with juices, Sprite, whatever. For the ultimate, pour equal measures of ALL of them, add cranberry juice and enjoy a Cruzan Confusion!
I like Mango and Coconut rum wirh cranberry
Cruzan Dark rum with Ting ( if you can find it locally)
Painkillers
3 oz Cruzan Citrus or Orange
3 oz. Amaretto
32 oz. -- 1/2 Gal --- Brewed Ice Tea
We call it "Cruzan High Tea"
On Ice in a Tall glass with a slice of Lime.
-Fill a fun glass with ice
- fill 2/3 of the glass with Cruzan Vanilla &/or Guava &/or Pineapple rum
- diet V8 Splash tropical (or crystal light tropical punch travels better)
- splash of pineapple coconut or passion fruit juice found in the Mexican aisle (blue soda can size)
- add a cute straw stir and sip!
Be careful! This is addicting!
This is the painkiller recipe I got from Skinny Legs:
Fill glass 2/3 full of ice.
Then fill glass 1/2 with Meyers or Goslingers dark rum.
Then fill the other half of the glass with equal parts of OJ and pineapple juice.
Then add coco lopez to taste. (They did not mention a certain amount.)
Try a website @ www.caribbeantravelmag.com/happyhours. They have a GREAT list of many famous tropical concoctions form famous Caribbean Bars. Enjoy. Mike
Key Lime Pie:
Cruzan Citrus Rum w/Pina Colada Mix
Another suggestion from an ex-bartender is black cherry rum and lemonade.
I love mojitos made with Cruzan Citrus! I think it's called the Mojito Royale, but they're not the easiest drink to make on vacation, because the fresh mint may be hard to find on a regular basis. It's not too sweet and is very refreshing.
My favorite is a Cruzan Confusion. We were drinking them at the Tourist Trap and they are delicious.
1 part Cruzan Mango Rum
1 part Cruzan Coconut Rum
1 Part Pineapple Juice over ice and stir
Hey everyone, this is my first visit back to this board is over a year (maybe 2??) and lo and behold a thread about my favorite topic - drinks! haha! I just wanted to add that I love Cruzan Confusions but pitchers of painkillers are really easy to do also. I think its one part (whole can) cream of coconut, one part pineapple juice, and 1 1/2 parts orange juice. I just mix it up ahead - you don't even need a blender - and just pour and add rum over ice. yummy
I also like lemon-aid Crystal Light with Cruzan raspberry - lo calorie!
or Cruzan coconut with diet coke!
For a low calorie, low carb refreshment, try Diet Orange Soda and Cruzan Vanilla rum. I change the proportions all the time, but usually start with 2/3 orange soda and 1/3 rum.
i 2nd the cruzan confusion!! pineapple juice with mango rum and coconut rum!!
Just got back from two amazing weeks and a wonderful new recipe.
I wanted a lighter version of the painkillers so my husband mixed rum, pineapple juice club soda and fresh limes.
The best I've had anywhere.
If he added anything else, I'll ask him to post.
My sister just recently made up a new concoction, and it was really good.
lemonade
skim milk
coconut rum
coco lopez
Put it all in the blender.
I love rum punches -- but not the sweet ones. Does anyone have the recipe and proportions. The best rum punch I have had was in St. Martin and they started with regular rum and poured dark rum over the top. I have no idea what else was in the mixture -- possibly bitters with the fruit juices. Not sure. Hope someone can give me a great recipe.
