Went to check-in online just now. US Airways has changed their web check-in. After entering your name, itinerary number, etc., the site now takes you to an international web check-in page and requires you to enter a passport number.

If you do not have a passport, apparently you can no longer use online check-in for travel to STT and I imagine it will be the same for PR.

Hmmm.... I don't think that will work to US Airway's advantage. Might help with security though.

So what do you have to do? Do you have to wait until you're at the airport to check in? I'm flying US airways at the end of april to STT, I dont have a passport.

Ok so I checked with US Airways. They said as of right now people traveling to STT new a passport to check in online but they are trying to fix it. They couldnt give me a date when it would be fixed and said I should try to check in online the day before my flight, but plan to check in at the airport.

At the airport was this was a non-issue. Although, at Reagan, after checking in on the kiosk, all I was asked for was my last name, no ID, no "Did you pack this bag, has it been with you the whole time, etc." spiel......fiance was only asked where she was traveling to in order to check bag. Your homeland security dollars hard at work! Woo-hoo!

On another note, it seems that US Airways has updated their kiosks and now give you a couple of additional options (before it was name, change seats?, and number of bags). Included now is that option (much like Spirit does) to upgrade your seat at the kiosk w/o human intervention from the airline - hadn't seen this before and it was a nice touch.

Now, let's see if Customs demands more than a driver's license again when leaving the "country"!
