My boyfriend and I booked 3 nights at the Ritz Carlton in St. Thomas in July. Has anyone stayed there and how was it? Also we were thinking of renting a boat for half a day, who is the best to rent from?
Thanks

I've not stayed there but have right next door at the Elysian Beach Resort. The one restaurant that we saw open for dinner each time had a very limited menu & was very expensive. Take a stroll over next door to the Elysian that has Bonnie's By The Sea & Robert's, both of which are very reasonable and good food!

We just came back from a week at the Ritz and it is beautiful. Every room has a grogeous view of the property, pool, and beach. The restaurants are not expensive in my opinion - it is a high-end resort and the prices are in line. The Ritz has a boat on the property - the Lady Lyndsey that is great for snorkeling or a sunset cruise. The hotel will also arrange a boat for fishing or scuba diving. The cost for the Lady Lyndsey 1/2 day cruise is $85pp plus gratuity. That includes snorkeling, refreshments (alcohol only served after snorkeling) and snorkeling gear. Hope this helps!!

I disagree that every room has a georgeous view. I stayed at the Ritz last summer. There are rooms on the ground level in a couple of buildings that look out onto the grass area, but have the view of the beach blocked by greenery around the "wildlife sanctuary". basically, you'll have a lawn out in front of you and then some tall greenery. That's all you can see. You cannot see the beach or pool. If you look at the map of the property, these are the buildings in the middle. I suspectt he higher rooms would have a nice ocean view. We didn't mind because we were staying as guests of an employee/relative, so I guess these are the rooms they give to those paying $99/nt, like us. But, if I was paying full fare, I would be seriously disappointed in the view.

Hi Kristee,

I am staying at the Ritz Carlton right now. It is fabulous! I will have a full trip report when I return but in short the staff is exceptional (can't say enough nice things about these wonderful people), the grounds are superb, and the rooms (at least the club room suites which is is one of the new buildings--there are "older" buidlings on one side of the property and newer buildings on the other side) are beautiful!

Highly recommend!
