For how long do you want to hire the person? On my first trip to St. John, I asked a taxi driver if he would give me a private tour. I didn't make an advanced reservation, I just went up to him. This was a while back, in the early 1990s, but he charged me only $50 for the equivalent of a 2-hour tour. Later, I found any of the taxi drivers will do this, but don't be surprised if they pick up others along the way (and charge the other person too, of course).

Not sure what you mean. The number above IS the number you call, just add 340. Calling to the USVI is just like calling to Indiana.
