Sherri,

Congratulations on getting scuba certified. :@) Diving gives you a completely different and amazing perspective on life in the ocean. We hope you and Jeff go diving every chance you get.

Thanx everyone! I am SOOOO excited! Plan to get out there this week, hook or crook! The waves haven't cooperated a lot lately (too much) so it took some doing and going to different locations to finally finish my certification! I worked with Homer and he made me feel very comfortable.....he was a joy to work with and I would highly recommend him. My first dive was at Hull Bay, second and third at Secret Harbor, and the fourth at Coki. I love it!
I also found out that Homer rents snorkel gear, so for those visiting STT, this may prove helpful to you! I believe he will even deliver it to you!
I HAD to do it, snorkeling while the guys were diving, just didn't cut it. Now I will join them! (tu)

Homer was my instructor, too, many years ago. He has probably certified more people to dive than there are ...uh...Bushwhackers at Paradise Point?? Homer is awesome. I would never have thought that I would dive, either, A.Davis. I am not a swimmer- I dog paddled my way across the pool for the swimming part. But you don't have to swim to dive-all you have to do is breathe!

And to visitors who want to try something really cool- go night snorkeling with Homer! (tu)

Congrats,

The whole crew was over saturday night and, of course, Rockworks/STT was the talk most of the night. They better hurry up and make up their minds as I see it is getting booked really fast. Hope all is well.

Hi Walt!
Yes, things are picking up (Thank Goodness). We sure are looking forward to your next visit!
Hey, we recently installed Solar heaters on the pools, not going to advertise it as an amenity tho as we don't want expectations to be too high! Solar only works if the sun is out! 🙂 Of course August is a warm time of year for the pools anyway, but thought I would fill you in. Isn't your Birthday coming up soon?
Ready to go diving? 😉

Good morning Sherri

Congrats on becoming certified.

Aurelia and I have taken the intro dive course at Coki, which is fabulous. I think Kim may try it for the first time this year.

By they way, we just booked our trip yesterday. We will be on island March 7 through March 14. We are bringing another couple of friends. Hopefully we can help the STT tourist economy, not too much though. The other couple wants to stay an extra week so I sent them your villa website info.

I was recently looking at the photo you took of us and Jeff at dinner earlier this year, and your fabulous Rockworks sign, I have lost 75 lbs since our last trip. My goal is to lose 25 more by March.

Tell Jeff "hello" for me.

Talk to you soon

Rusty

Hey Rusty,
We were just talking about you this morning..... ears ringing? We knew the count down was on!!!!!
Some news! Congrats on the weight loss!

Sounds wonderful that you have done the diving thing at Coki, I didn't know this! Kim would love it for sure! You should go for certification, 4 dives and you all are at the beach every day anyway!
Looking forward to seeing you all in March as always! Glad you are coming down again this year! (tu)
Thanks as always for the recommendation!

Jill's Husband

I'm looking to get diving certified while on St.J between Jan 25th to Feb 12th. How long does the coarse take? I'm looking to get certified to perform underwater structure inspections on bridges and structures.

Let me know if you can hook me up with someone reasonable.

What is a ball park cost?

We stay in Coral Bay (Calabash Boom) area.

Thanks

Geno

Hi Geno,
You will love it and it does not take much time. It does depend on weather some tho! You will be in STJ and this thread has been going for a while. I am guessing some are not watching it, so my suggestion to you would be to start a new thread entitled "Diving instructor help- STJ".
People who can help you will look! I did 4 dives and on bad weather days, went over things with Homer. There is a book to read.... all of it and then a few little tests to take with multiple choices. It can be done while you are here for sure. Good luck to you!
