*My wife and I and family came to St. Croix during the Thanksgiving break and my wife got the chills, sweats, fever, and still is suffering from it. The doctors don't know what it is, so thought perhaps you might assist us with some possible diagnosis. She suffers joint pains that travel from shoulders to wrist, to knees, to neck.
Other than that our trip and time spent there was fantastic. Paul

There has been some Dengue Fever going around the islands following all the rain recently. Sounds like it could be it. Try these links:

I second Wendy. Due to the rain and water standing, Dengue fever is something to look into. AKA hemorrhagic fever.

Definately dengue. Should be all gone by now as yo run thoiugh the various symptoms. Keep hydrated, drink Gatorade or Powerade, and take some tylenol extra strength. No aspirin.

certainly sounds like dengue to me...is she suffering from terrible fatique???that was the worst part for me b/12 shots on aweekly basis helped for at least a few days after, once she feels better she should be EXTREMELY careful of not getting over tired or run down since relapses are extremely common.if i can be of any more help email me some of us in stx are thinking of starting an "i survived dengue" club since recovery can be long and depressing its nice to have emotional support. glad you enjoyed stx we moved here permantly about 1 1/2 years ago and love living here!
