has anyone sailed on ike witt since capt pat left?
Honestly I can't say that I have. HOWEVER, Captain Adam is now working for me part-time to supplement his income and in just a short time has proven to be quite stellar. Yes, I know that a short time for any kind of assessment of his capabilities in any field is tricky but I can tell you that I'm a real taskmaster and can quickly sort out the wheat from the chaff.
He has a remarkable grasp of the history of the Ike Witt and the history of the Virgin Islands, He knows the boat, is being tracked by the old-time boaties here who are looking at him as the newbie on the block and thus far they've given him a major thumbs up.
Taking over an established charter business or any other business here isn't an easy task. I've seen them come and go out the ying-yang but Adam did his homework , Thus far he's doing a pretty good job where I'm concerned. Cheers!
thanks , he has big shoes to fill . we are going with adam in feb,
Tell him to answer his phone calls Anna, and he might get some business! Tried to contact him for some guests with no call back!
I'll let him know. He has told me that he's been been most meticulous with call backs. Cheers!
Hi all,
We sailed with young Captain Adam on Ike Witt: he is knowledgeable, personable, and very accommodating. He took exceptional care of us, and provided services we'd not had with other day sails. We had iffy weather, but we had a good snorkel in the morning. Adam led an underwater tour, diving down and pointing out rays and conchs and other sea creatures, then swam back to the boat to prepare a super lunch. As the sun was not really bright enough for another enjoyable snorkel, we just sailed. He took us places we had never sailed, and as we were his only guests that day, it was like private charter. The water was a little rough for me, a dog-paddle swimmer, and with the fact Adam does (or did not) use flippers, I for one, found the going a little tiring, so check to see if he has fins, or bring your own if you feel the need. He told us fun stories, and we had a good time. Surely, I'd sail with him again, and we know he had had his license only a few weeks, is carefully building his business, and we wish him the very best of good fortune. He's certainly a capable and confident captain, and a delightful young man.
