Is it just me, or do you all feel like you actually know everyone on this message board?? I was talking to someone last night and I said something like, "I know someone who went to a Kenny Chesney concert and it rained the whole time." Mountaineer Girl!! Never met any of you guys, but I talk like I have!

Work has been reallllly slllllowwww the past few weeks so I'm constantly refreshing this message board- I'm not headed back to the islands til probably February, but I have the need to hear from my "friends" all of the time.... Am I crazy? I really need to get a life- or maybe a new job..... 🙂

I have not yet been in the Caribbean and it scared me a little that so many of you are so addicted to the forum. Why am I scared? Because I spend too much time every day to read in boards about the USVI, and that means that my daily duties are being neglected. So I really hope that it will be better, when we return. But it seems as if I can risk that my dependence will continue?

linne,
You are at serious risk! I too, am totally addicted! My honey gets furious with me for spending so much time on the board so I SNEAK to read what is going on! I am constantly telling people about the forum and mentioning various topics that "my Friends" have discussed! Blu has become a special person in my life and sometimes contact her to get her point of view on "issues" I may have! Too funny! 🙂 KK leaves STT today, will call her before she goes and can't wait to read her trip report! I am lucky to be on this end of things, I have met wonderful people! Only saw Connie for a brief moment at the airport and she too, is a friend now!
Well, I DO have to get off this thing and get outside for a walk before I start my day (late). Ta, ta!

Awww....big group hug!!! Love you guys. This forum is so positive and helpful. Even the KC thread is ok. I recall a time on this board when some of the forumites would have risen up in anarchy over a thread like that.

It seems like much of my upcoming vacation wil be centered around the people of this forum, in some fashion...

-I am renting my villa from an owner who is a forumite (for the 2nd time!)-thanks "Lip".
-I'll share a BVI charter with someone on here - Landlockedbeachlover.
-I'll dine in a restaurant owned by forumite "STTResident"(and she has the best clam chowder, I might add).
-My daughter can't wait to shop in "St John Kids" store ownded by someone on here (not to mention me wanting to shop in her STJ Spice shop) - owned by forumite "Stjohnruth".
-And, of course, I'll hang with my favorite lady on STT and share lots of laughs - and tease her about nursing her drinks ("Sherri").

The funny thing is trying to explain to non-internet type folks that I've got plans to meet my "friends from the internet" on STT. Strange looks....

Ok, here's a funny.....

yesterday, my mom called and said "why can't I find the villa photos on the internet with my computer?" (She and my dad are just about as technically challenged as it gets). I said "I don't know - just type the name into your Google window". She replied with "I did that! I don't think I have LONG DISTANCE internet - only local - so I cannot see anything for STT".

Oh, I laughed so hard!

nd how many of you have your favorite USVI beach pic up as the background on your PC?

Ah, yes, at home I have a pic of Leinster Bay as my wallpaper. heehee!

Linne, it will be worse when you get back. Trust me on that.

Blu, your mom is hysterical!!

Blu

"...about as technically challenged as it gets..."

My mother complained about word processing versus her 'reliable' Underwood typewriter. I asked what issues she had so she went on about editing in general. I began to show here all of the options, i.e. backspace, highlight, cut & paste, delete...

She stopped me at Delete...

"I was afraid to press that key. I thought that would Delete all my files."

Technically challenged maybe but my brother and I were challenge enough and she seemed to do a great job with us. 🙂

Yes, lots of cash indeed. Don't say that too loud - - don't want to get mugged at the airport 🙂

No no - really, I bring credit cards and carry them with me. ATMs on island can dispense cash, as needed. There's on in Red Hook, next to ferry dock, FYI.

We'll surely be poaching your hotel pool one afternoon, for the Sunset Happy Hour (everyone gets tipsy and waves goodbye to the cruise ships).

Will call you beforehand to see if you are around.

Blu - I put together our itinerary, and I think I may have spread us a little too thin! Looks like our only "lounge by the pool" day is Monday 7/2 since there are 2 ships in port. That would be fun if you could stop by!

Ha ha haaaaaa! You are like me - with the itinery. Get ready for it to mean nothing on your trip. I make the best of plans, then execute very few.

According to my "spreadsheet", we have an "open" day on 7/2, with strongly advisable dinner plans at a casual place that is closer to you than our villa. So, that should work perfectly.

Like this thread reads....we must be nuts!

Perfect! Yes, hubby already told me I was a tad aggressive on the planning and that I didn't have nearly enough relaxation time at the pool for the kids. I forget they end up enjoying a pool just as much, if not more, than a beach. Silly creatures!

At least mine is on Word! Sounds like yours is on Excel ("spreadsheet"). Ha ha ha - - we are 2 peas in a pod!

Yep, Marty's still here! So is Ann, but she's in NYC for a month's vacation. I haven't spent much time on the board due to a new job (construction), but I still pop in every now and then!

In my earlier post, I failed to mention Margyz who has made me laugh many a time, both when she told me her different arrival stories to various villas and especially when we were having our lovely "tipping" discussion! Haven't heard from Margy lately and miss her participation! It's funny how you miss those who haven't been on in awhile!
When Blu traded us out for the Disney Forum, I was having Blu withdrawls! 🙂 We WORRIED about you!!!! lol! The people on the forum are just as (more) important as the "thread" itself!

Marty on STT,
Are you gonna make it to our get together the 27th? I am lookin' forward to meeting everyone!

I truly AM addicted! HELP!

I guess this is just one big happy family. I think I like it a little better them my actual family. 2 weeks and counting until my trip to paradise, this will be my first one, so I guess I am like the baby of the family.

Sherri...also wondering Leticia is. Last time I heard from her, we were sitting at Lattitude 18 and she stopped by to say hello...she must have a great memory because I never met her before, but she came over to the table. Everyone with us was wondering WHAT was going on, especially after you met us at the budget line...so funny.

I'm sorry, Sherri 🙁
