I thought about a trip report, and I may eventually do one, but if (for a awhile) if you have a particular question I could probably answer them. Spent 10 days on St. John only and did boat charters everywhere. We did travel to most spots on St. john.
I would love to hear which boat charters you took and what the stops were. What was your favorite stop and where was the best snorkel? Thanks!
We did the nh2, but better is to charter your own boat w/ captain thru oceanrunners. A little pricy, but totally worth it. You go ANYWHERE you like!!!!! GO TO THE INDIANS and the mangroves in coral bay was cool.
I just posted some questions but I have another one that you may be able to help me with.
We have one week in St. John. I know we can't do it all, but is a boat charter worth it or just visiting the beaches and trails is enough? We love snorkeling and are experienced. We have been to the Florida Keys often, and there you pretty much have to take a boat charter. We have also been to the Bahamas (bad) and Turks and Caicos (good, but still needed charters). ARe the off shore reefs so good that a charter is not needed? I really like the sailing charters. Is there a good one?
My husband and I also like to hike. Is there a must do hike?
Where are the Indians? Thanks.
Terri
The Indians are a rock outcropping, w/ beautiful coral. the best probably in the VI. A "private" boat charter was great, a little pricey, but you can go anywhere and drift snorkel, then the captain picks you up. Did no hiking trails, into snorkeling only.
