I booked a ticket out of Philly yesterday for $449., and today it was down to $298. I called US Air, complained, and they gave me the lower fare. I dont know if it was because I was a Dividend Miles Member or what, but I thought I'd pass that along to everyone as a public service announcement.
I've got one to top that- we had 2 tickets booked through US Airways for a trip to San Francisco next month that we had to cancel and were able to apply the frequent flyer miles used to get those tickets (hubby travels alot) towards our tickets to STJ in November. We are, get ready for this, paying about $25 (taxes I think) to go to STJ, rt for two- can you beat that!!! I think that leaves us some $$$ for more Red Stripe at Woody's or Freds.
weezer if it was less then a 24 hour period you are able to change your ticket without a charge. That is why you didn't have a problem.
Until the ticket is "ticketed" (usually 24 hrs or after midnight on the night you buy -so ask) you can change fares without penatly. After that, they'll give you a voucher for the difference between your fare and the lower fare, which you can apply to another trip. If it goes down a second time ( this happened to me on my last trip), you can call AGAIN and get another voucher. When you redeem your vouchers, you can combine them.
I've got enough to get the family to St Thomas. But, no money for hotels;( (son going to college this coming fall)
uh, thanks Kristi, but I didnt know that before and I though others would want to know.
