When does the hurricane season start and stop? I am coming on a cruise in May05. I am not familiar with any of the islands and will be my first time. I will also be traveling through the Bermuda triangle on Friday the 13th - should I be worried. LOL
Really any info will be good - thanks!

Hello,

Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1st to November 30th with the highest occurrences of storms in August and September.

Guide to go by:

June- Too soon
July - Stand By
August - A must
September - Remember
October - Not Over

Roll the dice, it's well worth it.

Seriously you have no worries

Thanks! I appreciate the replies. What about the hurricanes that hit Florida in the past and recently. Any damage to the islands? I am so excited to come - 4 weeks and counting. I think I may just want to stay forever!

Aside from rougher than normal surf, USVI were not impacted by any of the 2004 hurricanes.

we were in st thomas last year end of aug beginning of sept and were there for the tail end of one storm and the beginning of the other...it was just fine...a bit of rain but we just loved watching it on the weather channel with the gorgeous palm trees in front of us!
the rougher one was later that month but from what i heard not too bad

anyway may is perfect!
