Hello, it's me again. 1 more question. Since we have put in our deposit for NEXT June for our St. John villa what happens if the island gets a bad hurricane this summer and there is alot of damage to homes, stores, restaurants etc? Has this happened before and what would we do? Thanks for sticking with me through all my questions. Leslie

You are a long ways off. Everything will be up and running by then. Nothing to worry about.

Then again if you are still uneasy about it, you can always get insurance.

Have been going to STJ for the past dozen years in June and haven't ever really seen even a strong wind.

Imcneil1125,

If there were a hurricane I do not believe the villa owners/management would want you there any more than you. I would believe they would give your deposit back.

You should get trip insurance. I know that the folks we booked with told us we had to have it because we booked during hurricane season. If something happens to the villa, you want to be covered in case you can't get your deposit back.

But trip insurance also covers if something happens to you and you can't make it, so it's really worth the extra $70 or so it adds to your trip.

Leslie, there are several insurances that would cover your trip should you need to purchase now that your trip has already been purchased for a reasonable rate. If you need help, send me an email. I'm a travel agent in Texas....soon to relocate to the USVI.
