Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Stay safe!
St. Thomas.... Winds picking up a bit more now as well as the rain. A couple branches down, lots of leaves but otherwise looking pretty good.
Thanks for the thoughts and good wishes.

According to the Weather Channel..Hurricane Earl has just been upgraded to a Cat 4. Be safe all my friends in the USVI's and BVI's. Prayers are with all of you.
Tonight our thoughts and prayers are with the wonderful people we have met over the years on St Thomas, St John and the BVI's.
Stay safe!
Be safe everyone.
Be safe...keep us posted when you can.
Thoughts and prayers are with you.
I am coming to St John and Maho Bay for the Love City Triathllon next weekend. That exciting event takes a back seat to my concern for the good people of the Islands. Should the storm cause damage then my efforts will be to assist in clean up and recovery....either way I'll see you all on Friday.
Can anyone who lives on St. Thomas let me know how things are? Trying to reach my Dad but his phone keeps going straight to voice mail. Do you have power? Thanks for any help you can give!
All this quiet has me so worried. I am praying hard for all of youi...
There are many people without power but my on island friends have told me that for the most part, the islands are OK.
I have been told that the BVI had a hard hit, The Bomba Shack in Tortola is gone, but I have not received any other BVI reports.
STJ did pretty good, so far I have been given reports of no power, some trees down and the dinghy dock was badly damanged.
We just heard from someone at Crystal Cove who, having only walked the property, says that the damage there is confined to branches, leaves, etc. He will becalling back later but it looks like there is no property damage, thankfully.
Lots of rough weather, heavy seas. Hope for your well being. Pray that no lives are lost in your beautiful islands.
Earl is now Cat 4 with a possibility of going to 5. Would not want to be riding out the brunt of this storm anywhere. Who would.
I know that Puerto Rico has flooding and damage. Those with flying plans should check with the airlines pronto.
Thinking about you all.

Saying alot of prayers for the safety of all the people affected by Earl everywhere
Just got word that the Bomba Shack in Tortola is fine! 🙂
The Westin beach is a mess with several boats washed up, let's hope that there were not too badly damaged.
What is your name....so I guess you know Tom Proell.....and now Teresa....please reply....I have been worried for her.....Thanks....!!!
Thank you for that You Tube!!!
St. Thomas, did a drive earlier today (got some photos but due to internet/electric issues they will have to wait). Lots of leaf litter, smaller branches down and some larger trees on the Northside of island. Road crews and residents were cleaning up. Havensight looked good, one big tree down but was already cut up and moved aside. Downtown looked good, some debris washed up on waterfront apron and saw one boat that lost its mast but the other couple boats in the harbor looked fine. Buildings all seemed good, didn't notice any structural damage. East End looked good, didn't see any downed trees and not much leaves or debris. Folks were opening up the various road side bars in that area, gas station was open, grocery store. Marinas, at least from the road, looked ok. Overall looked good, work to do cleaning up the trees/leaves but otherwise things look really good. There were several lines down and this is being evaluated so electricity is off in many areas. Some stores and business are open today for example some grocery stores, restaurants, Home Depot, gas stations... others plan to open tommorrow.
Some folks are having cell phone issues so if you have friends and family you are trying to reach this may be the reason. Or it could be that their cellphone battery is dead and without electricity can't charge it.
As I type the sun is starting to pop through the clouds, iguanas looking around, birds are out, generators going, chainsaw noise in the distance.. More later. 🙂

Road crews cleaning up main streets, and residents doing the same around their homes and businesses today. More shops and businesses were open today. WAPA has restored electricity in some areas, some are still without. Was down at Magens yesterday afternoon and sadly it looks like they lost several of their big trees along the shore, perhaps they can save some of them but some were completely uprooted. Picnic tables buried in sand or washed into the water. Lots of clean up work down there which I suspect they were starting on today.
