Is there any way to bring alcohol back besides checking in our luggage and dealing with a 50 pound baggage limit?
Go to the store at the airport they will package it to be checked and you don't have to pay for it as a bag on AA
waterguy is right, The airport store will cushion and pack your order. On arrival you can pick up an order form with selections and prices and call it in like two days in advance and they will have it ready and waiting for you. Very nice folks as well and good prices.
All alcohol has to be checked and all the supermarkets, etc. here will provide you with the travel box(es.) As waterguy said, AA (and no doubt the other airlines coming here will follow suit if they haven't done so already) promptly agreed to waive the excess baggage fee for liquor after our Delegate to Congress advised them how detrimental it would be for the local economy. Cheers!
O.K. we just got back on the 11th and had to pay $20.00 to have our 6 bottles checked. Have we been had? Flew Spirit over and back
Mricco
mricco - doubt that you were "had" at all but our Delegate apparently got an exclusion with American and that's what I was afraid of. I'll follow up on that one and let her know. Thanks for the heads up. Cheers!
Called the Delegate's office today and they will bring it to her attention. Cheers!
Heck I just through it with our clothes around it in the suit case and it made it. Right or wrong it worked.
I just got back on June 14th.

That works fine just a mess if one leaks
That's what they make duct tape for right? LOL
I am flying Delta. I contacted them today and they said they are not doing what American is doing. They said it would have to be checked inside luggage...
i just returned from STJ and the airport store will box up the alcohol; you take it with your through customs. it will have to be checked but all rum made it back safely stateside...
