Hello I am going to st thomas sept 20th for about a week and I have read that alot of places will be closed a couple of weeks in september. Will there be a noticeable effect or will I even notice?
My plans basically consist of snorkling on st john (trunk bay and ?) and what ever else may come up.
I was thinking of renting a car on st thomas and taking it to st john or should I wait and get to st john b4 I rent or does it even matter considering price, time, and conveinance.
thanks
todd

You will not even notice that some places are closed. On St. John you have a lot of options. I have a car on island and so do not rent but from some messages I have read some people think it's great to rent on STT and come over to STJ. Some people say that if your car should have any problems it is hard to get someone to help you out. Personally, if I had to rent a car I'd rent on STJ. An added feature is that most rental companies on STJ allow you to park in their lot when you come into town. Parking in STJ is at a premium so this is a good bonus. Don't limit yourself to Trunk Bay to snorkle there are many more interesting places. If you are a good swimmer and don't mind walking then Waterlemon Cay is one of the best places around. Just a few weeks ago out in Round Bay I saw an amazing amount of turtles, grouper and a great number of just very colorful fish. Others have seen turtles in Francis Bay. I know they are over in Lameshur too. If you are adventuresome try joining a group going out to the Indians.
I know that Peter from Breath goes to Norman and the Indians on his charter boat.
I know this is more than you asked for but I couldn't stop!!!!
