Our family would like to go to the UVI for Christmas in 2010. We would like to see and stay at a few St. John's, St. Thomas and not sure of the other ones. I have a daughter that has Cerebral Palsy and has some troubles walking we will bring her stroller/wheelchair. we would like to stay as close tot he beach as possible. Thanks

Lisa: On St John, I believe Trunk Bay has sand wheelchairs available. Also there is a boardwalk at Francis Bay to allow wheelchair access. You asked how many islands in 10 days? Well, it depends how much you want to travel, but you could realistically see St Thomas, Water Island, St John, Tortola, Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda, as well as maybe Cooper, Norman and some smaller cays.
If you are willing to forgo staying on St John, there are some places on St Thomas where you could walk out of your room and be on a beach. That is very difficult to find on St John. One problem with both islands is accessibility. There are places where it is difficult to maneuver a wheelchair.
Are you really trying to see al lot of islands in 10 days or as many beaches as possible in 10 days? With all due respect, it seems a shame to take a relaxing spot like the VI and make it so hectic with that mission in mind.
