HI Everyone,

Does anyone know how long a line or time frame for arriving at the Ferry at Red Hook on a Saturday to catch the Ferry to Cruz Bay?

There will be 9 of us traveling to St John, Cruz Bay with a 2 year old and I am just concerned that being up from 3am and traveling I may want to skip the regular ferry and charter a water taxi for our group. Anyone want to venture a guess two hours, less of more?

Thanks

Barbie

Oh my, yes! Depending on what time you get there it shouldn't be but the wait until the next ferry and they run every hour. What time are you getting here? No need for private taxi to STJ and expensive.

After 5 years of living on island and 10 more visiting, I have never not gotten on the ferry because the line was too long.
The ferry runs every hour on the hour and it takes about 15 minutes to get to Cruz Bay.
If you get to the dock at quarter of, you will get on the next boat.

My longest wait was three Red Stripes.

Thank you for your responses.

The flight in to STT is at 3:10. So I will just go to the ferry rather then charter a private boat trip to STJ.

You all are so nice to help with all my questions. I am sooo looking forward to this trip.

The only time that it was congested and took longer than normal was on the fourth of July when so many St. Thomas residents were going over and back for celebrations. Otherwise, like everyone else said we have never had to wait. I don't even think on the fourth we had to wait. There was just a lot of traffic and it took longer to get to the ferry.

Have a great time. I can't wait; we go again late May.

If the boat ever fills up, they will make an extra run, so no worries. The new facility at Red Hook is pretty nice, so you can freshen up in the restroom and grab a drink if you have to wait for the top of the hour. Have a great time!!!!
