Im trying to book a rental car separately from hotel/flight package to STT. Hotwire will not let u know the car rental agency until after you have finished booking . I dont want to go with Hertz because i understand that rental company will not allow you to bring it to STJ. Am i right. Can anyone tell me who i can book with and know who the rental agency is before i get charged

margy, I just re-read my post and realize that I might not have been clear. You cannot specify the rental car company used with the Hotwire booking - you get assigned at the end of the transaction, after you confirm and pay . It is up to chance. That being said, I've never seen or heard of anything other than Avis being the end-result car company.

tacman, thanks for adding another notch to the Avis confirmed rentals via Hotwire

If Hotwire doesn't book you through Avis, I'll eat my hat.

Never seen it done any other way.
