Hi just wanted to get some feedback on the Renaissance Grand Beach.

Also if you have a better recommendation please let me know. Just to give you an idea, I usually stay at W hotels (upscale) and I am looking for something in that line.

Also if anyone has 2 or 3 restaurant names of place you "must go" for gourmet dining (price does not matter) please let me know.

Thanks very much!

PS - Anyone need a restaurant/club/bar list for Miami, please let me know, I keep an active one for friends visiting

Havent' been there myself yet, but friends with great taste highly recommended Agave Terrace. Said it is a MUST EAT. Their website is horrible. Doesn't give any idea of the beautiful scenery my friends described, but reading the catering menu's gave me an idea.

Good Luck

Restaurants on the East end you might enjoy, Blue Moon at Secret Harbour, Romano's as welll as the aforementioned Agave Terrace. In town, you might find Herve's, Alexander's, Craig and Sally's and Virgilio's. Try the local cuisine at Cuzzin's on Backstreet. Over by Mahogany Run you have the Old Stone Farmhouse.

My wife and I stayed at the Marriott on St. Thomas. It has two hotels, Frenchman's Reef and Morning Star (on the beach). We stayed on the beach at the Morning Star Beach Resort. It was awesome. Great beach, great service. I was very impressed. They have a couple restaurants we enjoyed.

We are planning on going back this winter. Love the location. They have a water ferry (small boat) to downtown. Great views. We loved watching the cruise ships leaving at night. There was even some good snorkeling if you swam out past the bay (away from the harbor).

We checked out the Renaissance Grand Beach hotel. We liked the location and facility at the Marriott better.

We ate at some very nice restaurants in two, but can't recall their names. One was on the harbor, on the 2nd floor. Very good meal. Great Italian place on St. John's. Once again, the name escapes me. The sales people at Diamonds International recommended a few places that were all excellent.
